The Highlights of 2019
Y'all— WHAT A YEAR!!! 2019 was a dream come true in many ways. I not only discovered presets, Italian carbs, and summer romancing, but I saw God actively show up in my life through both the joy and the sorrow this year brought.
To the girl who thinks it is just a dream and could never actually happen, I am here to say that is so false. God loves when we pray boldly. So, take those dreams, write them down, give them to God, and take active steps in making them not just your dream but your reality!
Each year, I enjoy reflecting where I have been and dreaming where I am going. In this blog, I am going to share the highlights of my year that were both fun and exciting but also heavy and stressful.
This day 1/2/2019, I wrote:
In the midst of my heaviness, You are constant and good to me. You have blessed me Father! You are faithful even when I am faithless. My heart sings Your praises. I was heavy today. Not just physically after the holidays but emotionally. Life is so messy and painful, but I am choosing to press in. I am getting my hands dirty in this thing called our broken reality and I am finding freedom there. I am able to see you more clearly there. Your beauty captivates me there. You move me there. I am pressing in and trying my best to be present there. Not taking today for granted but moving slowly and carefully. Moving with grace rooted in joy. Moving with confidence through tribulation. Believing both quietly and boldly. I rejoice in You today and throughout all of my days in 2019. For you are my joy. You are my sorrow. You hold it all together. I am hopeful Father. In all the things I cannot see, I am hopeful as You hold it all together.
What most of you do not see is the day to day struggle in this thing called life. Life is messy, unknown, and heavy at times.
To be completely vulnerable with you, I was broken when I wrote this. The holidays were extremely tough in 2018, so going into 2019 I was heavy with grief as a dear friend had just lost her mom and I was walking in the day to day with a mom who chose to walk away. But, to my sister who is HOPEFUL, keep on hoping in the One who is HOPE himself. He holds it all together and when we cannot see because grief is thick ahead, I want to hold your hand and whisper, “sister, you are not alone. I’ve been there and all I can say is don’t stop praying!”
In spring of 2019, God restored my relationship with my mom. This was no small thing. After a year and a half of silence, He spoke.
Soft smiles, food, and her… three of my favorite things. I don’t know why but I love the photo I keep tucked away in my Bible. Isn’t she beautiful! I love you mom.
In February of 2019, www.livwelldaily.com took its first breath— I got a website!
One of my goals for 2019 was to create more brand awareness on who I was, what I do, and what I am building. One of the big steps and accomplishments was this space right here— my website! I am so proud of this small yet mighty space, and I have an amazing friend, the founder of Clear Start Creative, to thank for bringing my creativity in color to LIFE!
This space has allowed for more creativity in the form of writing, more encouragement in the form of sharing Weekly Wellness Newsletters, more educating in the form of LWD Wellness Guides, and more business opportunity in one-on-one coaching with women in health and wellness!
In March of 2019, my Beauty Counter Business grew as I went to LEAD convention!
One of the best decisions I made in 2018 was becoming a beauty counter consultant and one of the best decisions I made in 2019 was to attend the LEAD convention. I not only made new friendships that will last a lifetime, but I got the opportunity to learn more about this amazing company and my place in it.
I chose Beauty Counter, because I not only love their products but I also love the mission this company stands behind. As a female entrepreneur with a purpose of empowering women in health and wellness, Beauty Counter compliments my mission by providing my clients with the highest quality skincare and makeup so SHE can not only look her best but feel her best with the safety of her products and care for her body!
When I got the call that I was invited to attend this convention, I said yes and before I knew it, I was in Phoenix, Arizona, making new friends, hiking in the desert, and making business strides!
One of my favorite photos from this trip. My sweet friend Emily and I hiked in Sedona after the convention had ended. We had a BLAST!
In April of 2019, I got real vulnerable and shared My Story!
When rejection becomes a redirection, something new can grow in a place we may have thought was dead and lifeless. I was rejected from the plans I had created for myself so the Lord could redirect me to the purpose I was created for. What a blessing!!!
Many of us don’t see it that way. We see rejection as a means of failure. We see rejection as a means of unworthiness or I am not “good enough”. This is far from the truth. Rejection, even in its pain, is a way for God to get our attention in hopes to redirect our steps to a more life-giving, joy filled purpose… our calling! We all have one that is unique to our thumbprint that is not comparable to anybody else’s, because its ours, it’s what we were created for. So, I wrote my story to inspire and encourage you when you yourself are faced with rejection and not sure what to do next. I told you my story because in order for you to know where I am headed, you need to know where I have been and my heart in the mix of it all.
Love is our most powerful tool; it is what sets us free. Created to live in FREEDOM. Created to LOVE. So love your neighbor as yourself.
In June of 2019, I bought my ticket to Italy!
Ever since I was a little girl, I have had this dream of traveling throughout Italy for a period of time by myself. Why alone? You know, I am not sure. I guess it is because I didn’t think anyone would have to the time or resources to do the trip with me. Little did I know then that I would not be alone, yet I would spend three months of traveling with new faces from all over the world. I would spend three months seeing prayers being answered that day, in that moment by a God who never left my side.
This trip was a trip of a lifetime and I am still processing everything that happened, but incase you missed it— read the story of how I got my ticket just one month before my take off date and the process of getting this trip of a lifetime somewhat planned!
I closed a chapter and started in on a new page, a new beginning, and what better place to start this next phase of life than in Italy!
In July of 2019, I set out for a three month adventure
I don’t have many words yet, but I will say this adventure was challenging, fun, sunny, and tasty. I ate some of the most delicious food, I drank some of the best tasting wine, I became friends with people from all over the world, I attempted a different language, I experienced a summer romance (ladies, the kind you read in books), I got my hands dirty on an Italian farm, I learned more about my insecurities, I carried a backpack the size of me, and I grew stronger in my faith.
Italia— my trip around the sun is one I will never forget and always remember! Three months of pure bliss and life changing experiences that truly set my soul FREE in many different ways!
In September of 2019, I moved cities!
After getting back from Italy, I knew I needed to set roots in a city that I wanted to launch my business in. With my family being from middle Tennessee, I couldn’t think of a better city to pursue entrepreneurship than Nashville!
This city is growing and thriving in so many different ways and I didn’t want to miss out on all the fun! So, you can now find me in a little fixer upper right outside of the city that my dad completely renovated and furnished for me to live in until my feet are financially secure in self employment. This house has been another adventure and yet blessing in disguise.
In November or 2019, I became a full time entrepreneur
And, after all of this ^^ I became more clear on my purpose and found my voice in health and wellness.
I believe I am called to inspire women to live bold, beautiful lives by creating the space where she feels WORTHY to be known and equipped to find her balance relationally, nutritionally, and spiritually through inviting, engaging, and welcoming ALL women to the table. I decided to become a full time entrepreneur to devote my full attention to changing the way women think wellness and what it means to live well each and every day through one-on-one coaching, writing, speaking, and leading exercise classes. Through this journey, I have created a nutrition method that speaks to all women and our anxiety ridden culture. I am proud of the work that I do, the results that i’ve seen, and the expansion that is coming in 2020.
Not one life is perfect friends, but if we pause long enough to see where we have been and look forward to where we are going, we will find unmistakable joy in our day to day!
Thank you for being apart of my 2019— now let’s see what happens in 2020!
